2000 PBA Draft
  • 1st Round 1st Overall Pick by Sta. Lucia Realtors - Paolo Mendoza
Verdict- WIN!  There where 31 players drafted in the 2000 PBA draft and only Paolo Mendoza made a name in the PBA out of the 31 drafted. Paolo Mendoza became one of the key players of Sta. Lucia to help them win an epic championship against the star-studded lineup of San Miguel. In today's PBA player, Paolo Mendoza plays like a Mark Barocca.


  • 1st Round Pick 2nd Overall Pick of Pop Cola - Mark Steven Victoria
Verdict- did not materialize
  • 1st Round 3rd Overall Pick of Purefoods - Dino Aldeguer
Verdict- Did not materialize 


2001 PBA Draft
Verdict- WIN! Willie Miller won a championship with Red Bull vs Talk N Text in the year 2002. He was a 2-time PBA MVP. 4-time PBA champion. 2-time PBA Finals MVP. 2-time PBA best player of the conference. 9-time PBA all-star and one of PBA's 40 greatest players. Willie Miller played in Red Bull, Talk N Text, Ginebra, and Global Port. In today's PBA, Willie Miller's style of play is like Bobby Ray Parks Jr or CJ Perez, but nothing is really like a Willie Miller.

  • 1st Round 2nd Overall Pick by Shell Turbo Chargers - Mike Hrabak


Verdict- Just fine. He was a sweet-shooting 3 point specialist. Listed official height of 6'7 that can play as a shooting guard, small forward and power forward. He is a 1-time PBA champion. 
Player. Playing style in today's PBA will be Rob Herndon.

Verdict- WIN! This gentleman needs no further introduction, yes! He's been in the league since 2001. Imagine if Shell drafted Mark Caguioa instead of Mike Hrabak. Who would be Ginebra's franchise player throughout those years? 

 Mark Caguioa won the rookie of the year, 7-time PBA champion. 1-time PBA MVP. 13-time PBA all-star. 3-time best player of the conference and of PBA's 40 greatest players.

 Honorable Mention to the 2001 PBA Draft that made a good career in THE PBA

 1. John Arigo - The 1st round 5th overall pick of Alaska
2. Francis "Kiko" Adriano - The 1st round 6th overall pick of Sta. Lucia Realtors 
3. Roger Yap - The 1st round 9th overall pick of Purefoods
4. Joey Mente - The 1st round 10th overall pick of San Miguel
5. Jercules "Jojo" Tangkay - The 2nd round 16th overall pick of Sta. Lucia Realtors
6. Peter June Simon - The 5th round 43rd overall pick of Sta. Lucia Realtors. Peter June Simon is still playing today for Magnolia and made it this long in spite of being the 43rd draft in the PBA.
7. Topex Robinson - The 5th round 44th overall pick of Tanduay Rhum Masters.
