Monikers/Nicknames of Alaska Players
ALASKA ACES
- Vic Manuel - "The Muscle Man" - Honestly, Vic Manuel is not very muscular at all. Manuel's build is considered average for an athlete. The term Muscle Man is another term for "button man" where the big bosses of Mafia or Syndicates are instructing the crew to use some "muscle" to finish the jobs. Very related to Vic's role! He finishes the job in fastbreaks, one on ones, double teams, mid-range shots, and rebounds. The Muscle man will hit you anywhere.
- Sonny Thoss - "The Boss" - Well, it's fun to rhyme the nickname to the real name. The Boss and Thoss. The reason also behind it was on Sonny's prime, he bosses his defenders around the paint! One time, there was this defender guarding Sonny who had 5 personal fouls. Sonny gave him a strong back to the basket post-up move then his defender grab him on his back but Sonny has already taken off! The result? LOL! it was foul-counted! And guess what the commentators said? The commentator said to Mr. Defender, "YOU'RE FIRED!!!" by the BIG BOSS Sonny Thoss himself! Then goodbye 6 fouls! hahaha "And I Don't Want To See You In My Office Tomorrow!"
- Noy Baclao - "Mr. Swat" - Noy has numerous game-winning blocks in his career. Most of it came when the game is less than 10 seconds and his team is up by 2 or 3. Then here's Noy swatting the offensive player for the game-winning block!
- Jake Pascual - "Jake the Snake" - Nice to rhyme
- Chris Eximiniano - "The X-Factor", "Ping" - Ping is an "X-Factor" for his game-changing defense. He pressures from the full-court or half-court (even on half-time - no just kidding LOL) and a lockdown defender. His offense is also strong coming underneath the basket using his quickness. Occasionally, he hits 3 pointers and if everything falls into place, that's an X-Factor.
- Chris Banchero - "Mr. Greek Body" - For being fit and a cool looking guy
- Simon Enciso - "Simon Says" - When Simon hits a string of 3's, its fun to say, "Simon Says I'll Shoot" and, "Simon Says Lets Win!"
- Abel Galliguez -"The Bicep" - The 5'8 guard of Alaska often noticed as "Abel's Bicep is bigger than most big men in the league"
- JVee Casio - "G Shock" - JV got his moniker from the Casio G-Shock watch. Joseph Evans "Jvee" Casio was a shock trooper on his college years at De La Salle University. Drafted as a 1st round 1st overall pick by Powerade Tigers, Jvee had an exciting season there along with Gary David winning over B-Meg (Magnolia/Purefoods) as a heavy underdog in a twice 2 beat disadvantage. Jvee won his first championship in 2013 with Alaska.
- Carl Bryan Cruz - "CBC" - "Complete Blood Count" for making his line up compete and CBC as Carl Bryan Cruz itself.
- Kevin Racal - "K-Racs" - For K. "Rac-al", sounds cool, isn't it.
